Thread: Going bald 'cause of error 17

a while ago installed ubuntu 8.10 on laptop, couple of months until got sick of not being able run usual windows applications , tried reinstall windows xp home (i know, know, it's stupid reason want go windows). after windows refusing install found ubuntu wouldn't work either now, put ubuntu 8.10 disk in , chose reinstall , start fresh again told me not partition. stage getting extremely frustrated , turned off laptop , left couple of weeks. whenever try boot laptop following message after post screen:

grub loading, please wait...
error 17

error driving me crazy. have tried searching forums solution people running both windows , ubuntu.

, solutions appreciated.

in advance.

try installing ubuntu again, pay particular attention hard disk partitioning part. instead of having shrink drive (to try , co-exist operating system), tell use entire drive. should remove half baked windows or ubuntu installations system.

note, you'll lose data on laptop too, don't if there's vital want it.

if don't manage go, note down error messages , post back. if work, may interested in wine.

i'm looking way roaming = 0 in lan, can't figure how it... i'm looking in hostpd.conf , here 802.11r / iapp etc... has managed roaming = 0 system? got lan multiple wired pi ap running in bridge mode eth0 , wlan0. separated ssid, , time change 1 other long. please advice me, thanks. br i have not tried setting pi access point wireless admin , note seem saying each pi has separate ssid. mean device needs learn every pi's ssids , not roam new pi until connection previous 1 gets bad, @ point device re authenticate next pi, causing drop , reconnect, not roam. wireless roaming want use extended service set (ess) , have each pi using exact same ssid, client doesn't need reauth or , can associate same ssid different pi. of course want make sure each pi set different wireless channel don't interfere each other. sorry can't offer more point in right direction. raspberrypi
