Arduino UNO save data in an external file

hi everyone,
i have problem need solve, have read data com port, attached arduino send data. tryed build daemons or while loop read data, doesn't work because com result busy in 1 of 2 parts (or arduino or java loop)
so.......i wanted ask
is possible directly arduino language save variable (not more 3 char of length) in external file xml or (also database, well, think it's kind of impossible)?
this make problem solved.

no, not. arduino can not access hardware on pc. can, @ most, talk serial port. application on pc needs listen port, read data, , save file.

you not trying have serial monitor open @ same time program, you?
