Complete Noob - 1-5v/4-20mA input advice

hi,

i'm after advice, not clued on electronics please patient.

i'm hoping input either 1-5v or 4-20ma signal 1 of arduino boards, part of small project undertaking.

i suppose need know:

is going feasible either signal?
if so, type of arduino best off using?

any , advice appreciated.

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
