auto aquarium water changes

i thinking of making auto water changer reef aquarium.  have pump thatpumps water out , pump water in have plug them in , unplug them  going use floats , timers has been tricky getting them timed right.  possible put water meeter inline each pump , set them arduino once week or every other week drain pump pull out set amount of water , fill pump put amount?

fresh or ocean?

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
