Countering Bad Tutorials? - Raspberry Pi Forums

i feel i'm between rock , hard place.

there person making "how to" type videos connecting hardware raspberry pi woefully unqualified so. it's hard know how many raspberry pi boards videos (one in particular) produced person have contributed in destroying in high hundreds possibly thousands of boards. (the video in question received in excess of 340000 views.)

after, consider, ridiculous amount of time , effort on part, got youtuber pull destructive video. same person, has stated plans make video using different hardware board. having little confidence in ability determine if hardware device safe use raspberry pi, did bit of research on device , found of questionable fitness use raspberry pi.

if continue point out youtuber's ignorance, i'll come across not being "nice". (i have been accused of abuse youtuber already.)

in opinion, , several others i've discussed with, youtuber isn't qualified make hardware videos. if openly state this, here on forum, not obeying rule of "be nice".

problem distressed thoughts of many people trying learn robotics raspberry pi may damage boards following directions of unqualified hardware tutorial maker.

there actions youtuber still take diminish damage done previous video appears if youtuber publicly shamed taking action action taken.

mention here in raspberry pi forum since it's location communicating youtuber in question produced productive results.

appears desire not have reputation in forum diminished. , in experience, way motivate youtuber take positive action, bringing poor behavior attention of forum.

feel choices let more raspberry pi boards damaged grief causes user or "be mean" , shame youtuber correct behavior. not "being mean".

perhaps there authority figure here on forum whom youtuber listen? if so, there may not need publicly "shame" youtuber appropriate behavior.

part of me feels i'm being busy body , not "minding own business". feeling subsides when think many sad stories read here on forum people wondering had done wrong cause death of raspberry pi boards. thing had done wrong trust person making tutorial qualified so.

know there many problems more severe few (or hundreds) of raspberry pi boards being prematurely burned out, helping prevent premature death of raspberry pi boards 1 of worlds problems have been able fight. still feel compelled continue can. (that came out more sanctimonious intended.)

i'm not sure if there's answer of can provide, there lot ways i'd rather spend time attempting damage control overly enthusiastic unqualified tutorial maker.

i'm interested in hearing ideas on matter.

don't know if guy spreading bad info or not opinion he/she is.
