Cropping a photo as a circle with blurred edges

help!! should know how - in fact there used tutorial in i'm sure!! can't find though.

i trying take photo, crop circular , blur edges can insert in web page later using dreamweaver. @ moment target page white, able blurring baclground colour.

i'm sure have done before (maybe in fireworks 4 - using fireworks mx) can't remember how - can crop picture drawing circle , using "paste inside" can't circle detach "hidden" full picture , can't remember how blur edges.

help!!!

draw ellipse on top of photo , fill white. change
edge property of ellipse antialiased feather. select both
the image , ellipse , choose modify > mask > group mask.
will able adjust fade off @ edge adjusting feather
amount.

the way export image fade background
export in 32-bit png format. unfortunately, not display
properly in internet explorer without first applying proprietary
markup called alpha image loader filter. can learn more
