Installing On Linux Fedora Core 4

hello, trying install cfmx 7 on linux fedora core 4 running
into installation issue.

install bin file states "extracting necessary files
the installer archive"
then...
says "configuring installer systems environment"...
then...
gives me error says "awk: cmd. line:6: warning: escape sequence
'\.' treated plain '.'"
says "segmentation fault"...

1 have clue going on here? has had
issue when installing on linux fedora core 4

anyones on this!

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
