Reliable live source for full time video streaming to RasPi - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi,

trying build live video streamer run 24/7, using raspi video player.
although not identical, example model live video server (pc based) feeding 10s of kiosks driven raspi.
can recommend protocol, encoding format or specific encoder software appropriate such application?

have been running flash media live encoder (fmle), fed wowza, streaming raspi using omxplayer decoding.
has been working fine on public internet line.
however, pitfall is, due design of fmle, encoder needs manually restarted every 20 days.
therefore, looking alternative make system maintenance free.

advise appreciated.
