Thread: The Real Price of a Mac

you know, there's i've had hard time understanding.

when people buy mac, ready enter whole new world. few statements uninformed masses.

"sure there isn't new model cheaper 1,000 dollars, it's totally worth it, because it's mac."

"i know i'll have buy new mac-compatible tablet , printer, it's totally worth have them in os x."

"i know doesn't have many games, stuff ported it, that's okay."

"sure os bulky without reason, it'll better, it's fine."

so, typical statements people switching linux, in comparison? well, first of all, people aren't preparing whole new world @ all.

"why can't use windows programs?"

"why doesn't work ten year old hardware? (compiz isn't fullspeed xd)"

"if can hardware working, why can't stupid wine working!?"

can see, people aren't losing when switch linux. free os, installed, , can use computer have fuller potential (they don't bother buy linux-tailored hardware have mac).

choose looks like, , lacks user-friendly video editing, , lil' speech recognition software in comparison. linux, wine, can have plenty of games (so can os x, sure).

apple's idea of windows compatibility installing partition of windows on mac. original.

mac os x isn't bad os, driver support isn't incredible, software selection isn't great you'd like, since lot of people don't bother porting source-code mac interface.

so, in essence, pay plenty of charges mac, , run brand new world full of ilife , dock/expose. um, don't understand allure. linux provides easy way of you'd want mac (besides ilife), plenty of windows file type , binary compatibility, , it's fast. wonder why people deal os x being bulky in first place, because computers can handle it.

so, people should consider, 'the real price of using linux in business or home' due perceived difficulty or lack of compatibility, should more real price of using mac. pay out nose unnecessary, sake of 'simplicity' or security.

again, os isn't bad, , pretty cool if weren't kernel made of cannibalized open source covered in glossy, chunky exterior. in end, if have linux, os x has little offer. still use mine though, since hardware delicious. xd

again, ain't no apple-hater. think consumers should more conscientious need right now. , if can use linux , still keep of our programs, ability comfortably use older hardware, don't see why people should spend money on expensive computers opposed education, alternative energy, , things matter them.
