regarding "table 3" results -- there's no voltage across open circuit, meter's impedance, though high, completes circuit nonetheless.  in days of yore, meter loading big deal; these days, nobody has care "ohms / volt" or "kohms / volt".

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
