Dynamic Menu, Java or XML?

hi, want configure nice dynamic html menu , not sure if should 1 using javascript or xml? also, know or have link free dynamic menu, unlimited submenus? use dreamweaver mx 2004 , not sure if there plugins available. configured java based 1 downloaded site, turned out pay menu had unlock....+ wasn't sure if should use java menu or 1 based on external xml file. appreciated update menu , not sure way go simplicity , compatibility, or if there templates out there can download , (re)configure....thanks in advance ---> ;-)
