Thread: Kernel panic - not syncing

hello,
new here , posting...

have big problem.

few days ago impatient wait freeze of screen when mozzila turned grey , pushed button shut down.
(i sure linux indestructible )
after ubuntu didn't start anymore
tried recovery , later tried live session , lot of commands e2fsck , fsck , tried start nohz=off , many things result same.
there's no os. using ubuntu 9.04.

tried gparted live , checked disk many times.

interesting there no /etc folder on system hd anymore??

hd bad sectors, checked hd , memory , found nothing wrong. also, folders locked not of them.
alredy copied important files (movies/music/pictures/games images...etc) , ready format disk if there no other solution (luckily of files needed not locked).

save os because customised (and many programs well) , don't wish again.

have idea how solve this.

you can save settings backing /home folder.

can't login using recovery mode?

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
