L led turns on automatically when I open serial monitor

i beginner of arduino. recently, found when opened serial monitor, l led lighted on itself. code had nothing l led (although executed correctly). confused.

can give explanation? happened when open "serial monitor" dialog? know code executed beginning, why l led on? using arduino mega 2560.

thank in advance.

perhaps code doing , don't realize it.  if show code can check.

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000 0x0c != 0x62
