hi, all! i'm novice , need advice. i have 24v(ac) 3-position siemens gdb131 actuator. need control direction of actuator(clockwise/counterclockwise) ? direction depends on contact 6(clockwise) , 7 (counterclockwise). found relays arduino, can short-circuit 1 contact. have scheme connect such devices arduino? thank you. if insist on using relays, there 2 options. 1) use 2 relays. 1 contact 6, 1 contact 7. please make sure 2 relays never both switched on @ same time, may damage actuator. 2) use relay 5 pins. on no pin, connect contact 6, on nc pin, connect contact 7. disadvantage is, wil allways turn, can't switch off. hi, i display signal of dcf77 receiver led. can't provide enough current led. what works use attiny , put input 1 pin output of another. i transistor . this setup (source) : this somehow inverts signal. inverts signal @ output of dcf receiver. quote this somehow inverts signal. a transistor invert "signal", @ transistor's collector.  but, when input transistor goes high , transistor turns on, pulls-down "ground side" of load , turns on led.    so, logic high = led on.    normally, i'd say  it's not inverted if logic-high turns led on, depends on how logic works...  if logic-low "active" or "true" state, you'd want led turn-on when signal goes low. if logic reversed can use 2nd transistor invert again, or can find non-inverting buffer or driver chip.    don't forget current-limiting resistor in series led. quote it inverts signal @ output of...

hi, running ubuntu 8.04 on toshiba laptop. have 250gb external hard drive thats partitioned 2 drives. 1 partition, use time machine backups on macbook , other, use stuff need store. when insert hard drive, time machine backups partition mounts, however, error message saying invalid mount option other partition (the other partition called usb_hdd). problem present drive. if insert pendrive, there no problems in mounting. appreciated. thanks. hi everyone, after going through seemingly 100+ posts on topic kinds of different rabbit holes, figured i'd pose simple question here , can point me in right direction: can raspberry pi (easily) configured play dvd disc network-shared disc drive on pc? goal when wife comes home dvd redbox (i know..) , bottle of wine, can pop disc in pc , have , playing on home network tv in minute. i'm not looking rip/convert/store dvd isos, avi, or whatever. if isn't feasible due hardware/software/network limitations, i'll happily admit defeat, stop being cheap, , buy dvd drive. however, problem solver in me wants work have available . far, i've gotten point raspbmc can access network shared drive via samba , start playing (some) content if use .ifo in video_ts directory, output via hdmi tv. however, playback excruciatingly slow (~10 fps). i've tried overclocking pi ~850mhz , core_freq 375mhz , and wiring network endpoints instead of using wireless no avail. missing e...

hi everyone, i'm crop of questions. i'm working on gif display (random gifs in slideshow on 3.5'' lcd), , i've got working solution think quite ugly , i'm thinking it's because i'm confused along way. here's setup clarity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bcycc7hkfu . small lcd monitor right next desktop ssh in windows remote desktop connection basic tasks. right now, device: boots midori in fullscreen mode website i've set up. then, cron job executes bash script every 5 minutes kills midori processes , restarts x via startx, indirectly restarts midori (homepage set website), slideshow continues. reason have kill midori blank out after unpredictable amount of time showing slideshow. i'm still not sure why, haven't had time midori log file (one exists, right?). have call startx , not midori -e -fullscreen - http://website.blah because midori seemingly doesn't launch when replace startx midori in crontab (black screen), , w...
